For Amazons Good Omens season 2, I was tasked with creating a propaganda poster campaign during WW2. For Hell.
My initial instinct was to create works with a ‘anti heaven, pro hell’ sentiment, but the show-writer had a much funnier angle, make the hell propaganda anti hell! From there I researched and collected propaganda posters from the time, and twisted them to suit the humour of the show, peppering in a reference or two.
In the same setting, I also had a dressing room to dress (pardon the pun), for a theater that mainly shows burlesque acts. Reference was a little harder this time, but WW2 pin ups made for a great start. With these designs being fliers, I needed to find mass production methods of the time and replicate them visually. With that it was time to create, going for a theme that was raunchy, but old hat and by modern standards pretty harmless. A little cheeky.
